The ACU has confirmed that Team GB has been disqualified from the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations following post-event technical inspections, which identified a fuel-related technical irregularity on the motorcycle of MX2 rider Ben Mustoe.

In a statement, the ACU said both it and Team GB acknowledged and accepted the decision made by Race Direction, stressing that compliance with the sport's technical regulations was absolute.

However, the governing body was keen to make clear that there was no suggestion the irregularity had provided a competitive advantage or resulted from any deliberate attempt by the team or riders to circumvent the rules.

"There is no allegation of intentional wrongdoing, and we remain confident in the professionalism and integrity of TeamGB," the statement read.

The ACU and Team GB are now conducting a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the issue, working with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to establish how it occurred and ensure there is no repeat.

Naturally disappointed by the outcome, both organisations reiterated their commitment to competing at the highest level with integrity, professionalism and respect for the sport.

The ACU also thanked the riders, partners, team members, sponsors and supporters for their continued understanding and support.
