AT the weekend the Mid-Wales team of Dylan Jones (125 Yamaha), Edward Jones (250 KTM) and Robert Jones (125 Yamaha) won the 2008 Inter Centre Team Enduro, an event that has been resurrected after falling out of favour in the mid 1990s.

The hard working members of the South Eastern Enduro Combine – a cooperative of nine clubs within the South Eastern Centre – laid out a 20-mile lap on military land just outside Aldershot in Hampshire, starting and finishing at Rushmoor Arena.
The course consisted of most surfaces to challenge the riders ranging form hard-pack, loose loamy soil, bogs, sand and even areas of tarmac.
At 10am the rider set off, in fours, at one-minute intervals for the first of six gruelling laps for the Expert class. The Clubman class was required to do one lap less. Laps two and three included a timed special test conveniently sited close to the parc ferme area.
With two time checks round the lap, and an ever decreasing time allocation to do the fourth circuit was going to be the hardest.
Dylan Jones set the first fastest special test time of the day, just two-seconds faster than his cousin Edward Jones who was third fastest, but the South Eastern Centre's own Ollie Moyce split the pair and was just a fraction of a second behind Dylan.
Both Jones boys lost time penalties on lap four where they checked in five minutes late after their one minute allowance. Their team-mate Robert Jones, Ed's brother, was seven minutes late with a further minute late on the second lap giving them a cumulative total of 2,740.5 penalty points.
The Cornish team of Jason Fraser (250 Husqvarna), Tim Lewis (125 TM) and Steve Dunstow (250 KTM) finished second, just over 300-points behind the winners with a total of 3,046.3.
Most of their points once again were racked up on lap four with a further couple of minutes slipping by on lap five.
