WITH all the right boxes ticked, including some most welcome warm spring-like weather and a bumper turn out of Four-stroke riders, round three of the Wilden MXC Moto Goo championship took place at Polesworth on Sunday.Robert Yates and Casey Connelly turned on the style in the Junior 65cc class.

Robert was a worthy winner, two races to one but only after a terrific last race with both boys fighting hard. Lewis Houghton, who is improving all the time, claimed a creditable third place overall and, with another battling performance, Jordan Pyne claimed fourth.
There weren't too many Small-wheel 85s on the line but real quality nontheless from Ben Howell, with a cracking hat-trick of race wins chased hard all the way by Ricky Roderick. Ricky looked impressive into the bargain, finishing in second overall. Likewise, Liam Garland showed tons of effort to gain a well deserved third place overall.
12-year-old Ryan Houghton, with another clean sweep in the Big-wheel 85cc section, proved to be one of the real highlights of the day, as he dominated with power, style and aggression on the track. Second overall, Scott Alldridge impressed immensely, and in the final race of the day was closing in on Ryan as the chequers beckoned. Good performances were also noted from Dan Thornhill who claimed third overall with a 5-2-3 scorecard. Fourteen-year-old Jake Millward, in fourth, was really unlucky with a couple of falls.
If Liam Davis is on the start line you're almost guaranteed cracking action and so it proved in the Youth 125cc races but he had to give way in three tremendous races to Jamie Houghton who took all three wins, looking totally assured in his ability all day. Aaron Paskin had a strong performance to take second overall.
It was a familiar story in the Two-stroke races as Rob Barney demolished the field yet again with all three race wins, despite the best efforts of Dale Raynor, Dan Hiorns and Charlie Evans who fought it out in a competitive battle for the places.
With a massive turnout of Four-strokes they had to be split into two different races, and the awesome fire power of Shane Careless proved to be overwhelming in group A as he rampaged to the overall win.
