Toni's in the Money'

TOMMY Searle came within half a lap of winning his first GP at the wet Grand Prix of Northern Ireland on Sunday but, in the end, it was again Toni Cairoli who grabbed the MX2 honours. Earlier in the day the Italian had inevitably clinched his second world crown.
With Chris Pourcel eliminated for the season aftercracking his pelvis in the morning warm-up, Tommy Gun now needs justsix points to ensure himself of the silver medal, but the teenager wasdefiant in defeat: I still want a GP win this year, and I only havetwo more chances!''
The MX1 title chase gets tighter by the week. JoshCoppins was again absent, but the Kiwi still leads the world afterSteve Ramon crashed on the first lap of both motos. But there was stilla Suzuki win as Kevin Strijbos bounced back from a first moto defeat atthe hands of Ken De Dycker to win his second GP in the last month. TheBelgian, along with fellow podium men Seb Pourcel and DavidPhilippaerts are now all within striking distance of the pace as theseries goes to Donington Park this weekend!
