Motocross

THE Kendal Classic club's Greeves Motorcycles sponsored Nostalgia Trial, restricted to Pre-65s and Twin-shocks and staged on Saturday, the day before the famous Nostalgia Scramble, at Middleton, Sedbergh, played host to a truly massive entry of over 200 riders who were treated to a 15-section course, lapped three times with sections split into hard and easy routes.

With such a huge entry and punchcard marking, somequeueing was in-evitable but, with a good length course, windingthrough woods and around the fields, the queues were kept to a minimumalthough numbers built-up on the last lap as riders bunched-up. Intruth it was a blessing for some to be able to rest knackered bodiesfor a few minutes before plugging on.

It was a cracking course with a good variation ofsections from rocky streams to deep mud hazards, greasy bankings andhillclimbs and all well worth a few minutes wait. The odd shower failedto dampen enthusiasm.
