Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton ran 1-1-2 at Round 10 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross – a Triple Crown event held in Birmingham, Alabama to claim victory and close down Cooper Webb (Star Racing Yamaha) in the 450 SX series standings.

Sexton was in incredible form on the night and after moving by teammate Aaron Plessinger easily won races one and two. Then after holeshotting race three, Sexton let Webb by safe in the knowledge that the overall win was secure. Although Webb won race three, a seventh following a crash in race one severely affected his overall result with his eventual 7-4-1 scorecard only good enough for fourth overall.

Plessinger’s great starts translated into 3-2-5 finishes for third place on the podium while a hard-charging Malcolm Stewart ran 3-2-3 to bag second place despite carrying a leg injury into the races.

In the championship chase, Webb leads on 211, eight ahead of Sexton who has 203 points. Ken Roczen (Progressive ECSTAR Suzuki) sits a safe third in points – 27 behind Webb – with Stewart now moving into fourth ahead of Justin Cooper (Star Racing Yamaha).

The series now swings to Lumen Field in Seattle for Round 11. With plenty of rain forecast for the week, conditions could be soft in the Pacific Northwest come Saturday night.
