Jordon Smith made history at the fourth round of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship as he took victory – the manufacturer’s first – on his TF250-X. The event was the first Triple Crown race of the year and Smith ran 2-3-1 to top the podium less than a year after the iconic British manufacturer entered the series. The win moves Smith into second place in the 250SX West series standings.
"This is unbelievable, man,” said Smith. “Huge thanks to the whole team – everyone – as we made great decisions all day. Everything was just perfect. It was a flawless day. It feels incredible to get the first win for Triumph and we are only just getting started. The only way is up from here."
Ian Kimber, Triumph’s Head of Global Racing Programmes, was equally as ecstatic. "What an incredible night,” he enthused. “Tonight Jordon and the team made history in the sport for Triumph! We’ve accomplished a lot in the short time we’ve been competing with the TF 250-X in SuperMotocross; from building a world class facility, putting together a race team, to developing bikes in a new segment for our company that can compete with the best at the highest level of Supercross competition. Tonight saw everything that we have been working towards come together and I know that everyone in the factory is going to be immensely proud of this achievement. We’d like to say a big thanks to our partners and everyone that’s been involved with this project; let’s enjoy this moment to celebrate this huge success."
It was an exciting evening all round as series leader Julien Beaumer (Red Bull KTM) just couldn’t stay upright and the winner of the first two Main Events – 17-year-old Kiwi Cole Davies – also suffered a fall in the decider leading the path clear for Smith and the Triumph. Beaumer now leads the championship on 87 points, two ahead of Smith with Star Racing Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan and Davies following on 84 and 72 points respectively.
The 250SX West series now takes a break as the championship heads east to Florida where the 250SX East series will get underway. For the 250SX West riders, Arlington, Texas is next up on February 22 followed shortly after by the first East/West Showdown in Indianapolis on March 8.
