Ben Myers digs deep for London Marathon

Trials

East Yorks Centre trials rider Ben Myers saw all his recent hard training come to fruition with a fantastic run in the London Marathon, finishing in 4 hours and 36 minutes.

Ben, 28, works in the oil and gas industry building sub sea equipment. He started his running career four years ago and trained specifically for this race over the last year.

"Things were going great up to the 24-mile mark,” said Ben. "Then my legs went and just about gave way but after help with a sports massage I got under way again.

"The last two miles were hard and I didn't get the time I wanted but I will be back next year.”

Ben applies the same forceful approach to running as he does to his trials riding and we wish him the best of luck in the future.

Ben was running for a great cause – the Motor Neurone Disease Association – and the present total stands at £1,900 and is still rising.
