By Team TMX on 13th Mar 25

Honda Montesa has officially announced that Miquel Gelabert will ride their RTL Electric in the Trial2 class of the FIM Trial World Championship. The 27-year-old Spaniard has the ability to be a strong contender in the championship as he and Honda enter the fray. The RTL Electric machine has already proved its prowess competing in the Japanese Championship where it won three events from three starts with former world champion Takahisa Fujinami onboard.
The new Honda Montesa team’s goal for 2025 is to win the Trial2 championship and accelerate EV development at a high level. The bike will make its official debut at the opening round of the season at Benahavis in Spain on April 5/6.
“I'm very grateful to Honda for trusting me for this new project. It's an honour to be part of a company with such a long history and to be surrounded by great professionals within Honda Montesa,” said Gelabert. “The RTL Electric is an innovative motorcycle and its development has been incredible. We know that the challenge will be very demanding, but we are working hard to be competitive from the first round.”
