Jack Peace maintains TrialGB win-streak
By Team TMX on 30th Jun 25

There was no stopping Jack Peace (Sherco) at the Hookwood double-header, as he delivered two commanding performances to extend his perfect run in the 2025 ACU British Trials Championship. With back-to-back victories at rounds three and four in Surrey, the championship leader tightened his grip at the top of the standings - but the weekend also marked a breakout performance for rising star George Hemingway (Beta), who twice pushed his way into second, edging older brother Harry down to third overall in the title chase.
Set in the shaded woodland of the Hookwood Trials Club near West Horsley, the weekend served up 12 demanding sections over two laps, combining natural terrain with man-made hazards to test the full skillset of the 89 riders entered across seven competitive classes. While both days began under a blanket of cloud, the sun soon broke through, bringing humid and warm conditions that kept the sections dry and consistent - perfect for high-level trials action.
Peace came out firing on all cylinders in Saturday’s third round, quickly finding his rhythm despite an early stop in section six. He posted a lap score of 13 to hold a narrow advantage over Harry Hemingway on 17. But it was the second lap where Jack truly laid down the law, parting with just eight marks - the best of the trial - to secure a comfortable victory. Behind him, the Hemingway siblings fought hard, with George riding strongly to edge Harry and claim second on the day.
The sun returned on Sunday and so did the crowds, eager to witness more of the intense championship battle. Peace hit an early wobble on lap one with two fives late in the lap, dropping him temporarily to third behind Harry and George. But showing the mettle of a true champion, Peace turned things around on lap two with an exceptional ride, losing just two marks to snatch victory by a slim two-mark margin over George Hemingway. Harry had to settle for third once again, with the points shuffle tightening the race behind Peace.
Four rounds in, and Jack Peace has shown that he’s the man to beat in 2025. But with George Hemingway growing stronger by the round and Harry still very much in contention, the championship is far from settled.
