Supertrial ticks all the right boxes
By John Dickinson on 30th Aug 17
LAST Sundays MacKenzie Trophy Supertrial was another triumph by the Yeadon Guiseley guys and gals and allowed the extreme steep, boulder-strewn, harsh rock outcrop that is Addingham Moorside to be used to its maximum.
Bringing Adam Raga from Barcelona to ride the event added to its exclusivity and notched the event up a gear in presentation.
About the only criticism that could be made was that the event was just TOO much of a good thing with a late 6pm finish but we shouldn't really complain as the Final just built and built as the sections got harder and harder.
The fans crowded round the action and trekked across the hillside like soldier ants from section to section.
There are hundreds of cracking club and centre events which cater for the great majority of riders so surely there's a place in the calendar for a handful of elite events where everyone can get along and marvel at what's possible on a trials bike.
It is a real eye opener, and a reminder even for those of us who know what the top riders like Raga, Dibs and Pricey are capable of.
Clubs like Y&G, Scarbrough and North Berks are to be applauded and they fully deserve your support when they stage these events.
