Trials Torque: World in action
By Team TMX on 30th Aug 17
FOLLOWING the usual summer break the 2017 FIM Trials World Championship will resume with the final two rounds on two consecutive weekends in September.
First up on September 9/10 will be the Czech Republic round with the series coming to a close on September 16/17 with the Italian round.
Both single day Sunday rounds, with Qualifying on Saturday, will cater for TrialGP, Trial2 and Ladies classes.
Toni Bou and Emma Bristow are nailed-on favourites to retain their TrialGP and Ladies titles but Trial2 is a different story!
Welsh ace Iwan Roberts currently leads the race for the Trial2 title but the Beta rider is just seven points clear of Spain's Montesa mounted Gabriel Marcelli.
Fellow Montesa rider Francesc Moret is 20 points back in third on 99 but Britain's Vertigo challenger Toby Martyn is just four marks back and can still make third place as indeed can Dan Peace and the Gas Gas rider has been on good form of late and is just four marks adrift of Toby.
And in a busy month the FIM outdoor International season comes to a close the following weekend with the Trial des Nations taking place in Spain with Ladies and Mens competitions on September 23/24.
It is all building to an International crescendo and we'll keep you right up to date with previews and reports starting with the Czech republic preview in next week's issue
