Trials

WITH the ink not yet dry on the Reeth Three Day results, the ever-enthusiastic Richmond MCC have just announced that Regs are now out for the infamous Scott Trial.

This unique time and observation epic event takes place this year on Saturday, October 22 – and with the online entering system at time of writing they already had two entries returned!

For any none-Yorkshire folk who don't know what The Scott is all about, it is a 75 mile, single lap all moorland course, with around 80 rocky observed sections, to be completed as quickly as possible.

Fastest person round sets Standard Time and for every minute each competitor takes over this time they get an extra time mark to add to their observation score.

Lowest combined score wins. Simples!

A Scott victory is one of the hardest to achieve requiring a perfect mix of speed and skill in the sections. The list of winners is a very select one, including last year's victor Ian Austermuhle (inset).

Most riders ambition is simply to finish the course, others crave a coveted Scott Spoon for a First Class Award.

For a Yorkie, a Scott entry is compulsory at some point, for others it is optional...

Whatever, entries are open so check out the Richmond club website for further details and of course to enter, you can even pay your entry fee online (richmondmotorclub.com) to simplify the process for everyone.

TMX will keep you up to date on how it's all progress on the run-in to the big day.
