All aboard for the Colonial
By TMX Archives on 8th Feb 07

THE big guns of British trialling will hit Rosedale Abbey on Sunday morning to ride the 47th National Colonial Trial.
A round dozen could hit the Eboracum MCC jackpot – no kidding! Check out the hit list. James Dabill, supreme last year, aims to put his new TRW Montesa at the top of the results board in his debut ride on the Honda powered four- stroke in Britain. But will Ian Austermuhle, winner in 2003/04 roll over and allow that to happen. We think NOT. Add in Dan Thorpe, Sam Haslam, Ross Danby, Alexz Wigg, Michael Brown, Michael Phillipson, Lee Sampson, Liam Walker, Chris Pearson, David Pye and John Crinson, Gary MacDonald, John Sunter and Jack Lee, and ‘Dabs' has really got a mountain climb on Sunday.
The one lap event, traditional to its roots, will test, and bite the unwary.
Hartoft and it's rock strewn shrubbery will be slippery. Rock House beck will nab marks, especially Moons Rock in the second last sub, and the rooted rock step out of the beck at the final section.
