Frome blooms for MMX

ROUND four of the popular CCM-backed ACU British MMX championship series heads to Somerset this Bank Holiday Monday where the Frome club will play host to all four championship classes at its long established circuit at Leighton Woods, Frome.
The circuit has had extensive work carried out onit over the last couple of years with a new impetus of club memberscoming along to help out Jim, Vera and Duncan who have been a part ofthe tracks history since day one.
The Sidecar class will be first out on the circuitat 9am for their 30 minute qualifying session, and with currentchampions Stuart Brown and Luke Peters sidelined, due to an operationon Stuart's hand, the championship has been left wide open.
Cumbrian duo John and Mark Watson will be lookingto put their recent GP form to good use and make a bid for the top ofthe championship table, especially with closest British rivals ScottWilkinson and Gary Burt suffering at round one back in tenth place.
The International flavour will continue at Fromewith current series leaders, Dutch duo Jarno Van den Boomen andpassenger Henry Van de Weil, making another appearance to try andexpand on their two race wins, although the hard-pack going of Fromewill be a far cry from the soft sand of Matchams. Joining them fromHolland are Thijs and Roy Derks, currently eighth in the standings.
