Provisional 2009 dates

The FIM has officially announced provisional dates for this winter's Indoor Enduro Championship and next years World Enduro Championship, including the ISDE that will take place in Portugal.
As it stands the newly upgraded IEWC will take place over five events with two in November and three scheduled for early '09. Starting with an event at the international motorcycle show in Milan, which featured a demonstration arena enduro last year, the series will then head to the home of indoor enduro racing - Barcelona, before a second event in Spain sees the championship move past the half way point with round three set to take place in Madrid in February.
With the Genoa Indoor Enduro set to host round four of the championship the final event is planned to be in the States. Rumoured to either be taking place in Las Vegas, in Florida during Daytona Bike Week, or not at all, little is known about the final round of the proposed championship, or which side of the Atlantic the championship will finish on.
The '09 WEC calendar looks very different to the '08 series due largely to the fact that the championship will, for the first time in four years, be starting in southern Europe and not with a winter enduro in Sweden. Added to that the series will return to Finland for the first time in four years as well as travelling to South America and an event in Mexico.
With Portugal hosting the opening round of the WEC series it will also play host to the final international enduro event of the season as the ISDE takes place in October, after the world championship has finished. Although starting in southern Europe the fact that the WEC is again starting in mid-March means there's a high chance that the opening rounds of the series could well be wet.
