THE very first Beta REV4T that arrived in the country late last year, the pre-production version that was one of only two in the world at the time, has had a very lively time of it since Trials and Motocross News bagged a World Exclusive with the first test - just before Christmas!

Steve Saunders was first to ride the bike in an official event and as far as we know, Steve claimed the REV4Ts first win, worldwide! The bike has since been ridden in competition by Jim Lampkin, Ben Hemingway and Chris Griffin - as well as having been the subject of many test rides by all and sundry. For instance, at our test day it ran non-stop - it was even re-fuelled while on the run - and was ridden by Griffo, Jim Lampkin, Graham Tales, Glen Scholey, one of the many Silsden-based Ishy's, and even by the retired Johnboy and myself. John remains incredibly gifted and it is a shame that his worn-out knees brought-about his premature retirement. My own wonky knees prevent me from riding too much but in my case the retirment is probably more blessing than tragedy although it has done a lot of people out of a lot of laughs.
