Five hours of great enduro and cross-country racing was exactly what WOR Events provided at the second round of its Michelin Endurance Championships.Overnight rain had made the stunning venue - brand new for WOR - in the deepest North Wales valley very slick underfoot. However, a very dry and clear day saw the course dry out lap after lap and by the third hour it was in awesome condition and everybody was enjoying themselves.
A 10.30am start saw a very well-supported eventget underway with over 90 solo riders and 50 two-man teams taking onthe challenge that lay ahead.
In the Expert Ironman class, Martin Sandiford wasthe leader till the three-hour mark. Never far behind was the supercommitted' KB Racing rider, Lincoln Brewster.
Brewster had a gameplan and intended to step it upcome the final two hours of the marathon. He did just that, and went onto take a fantastic win, lapping the entire field - includingsecond-placed Andrew Cripps. KB Racing's other rider Andy Cripps didreally well and is starting to regain his form. Third went to young BenWootton with another spirited and determined ride.
Damien Butler was in fine form in the Clubman Soloclass, taking a solid win and two-lap cushion over second placed HarryHillas. Third went to Jim Bucanan and he was also best Four-stroke.
Top Over 35 man was Ian Barnett who managed tojust sneak one more lap than Jack Twentyman. Those two really battledit out early on in the event. The final class podium position went toRob Morris.
