Winrow paints it Black'

PAUL Winrow turned up the heat in his quest to recapture the QRA UK British Endurance Championship crown as he stormed to a unchallenged victory at round five at the weekend at Blackwood, deep in the valleys of south Wales.
The last time the series visited this venuecompetitors couldn't see the other side of the valley because of lowcloud and heavy continuous rain, and the event was called off on safetygrounds.
However, this time round the riders couldn't haveasked for better weather with many teams even getting their barbies'out on Saturday evening.
The long, interesting and challenging track, laidout by Tony Nash and the hard-working team, had it all, with some verysteep climbs and descents with lots of adverse cambers and someblinding fast straights. Dust was thrown up in several places just forgood measure. But this was blown safely away by a cool September breeze.
Jason Wildman lead the pack of Pro riders intoturn one at the start of the gruelling three-hour event, chased bySteve Atkins and Andrew Davis - with Winrow several places back.
