GARETH Hockey had a fairly impressive stand at the recent Dirt Bike Show, promoting his latest project, which, if it comes to fruition, will result an a purpose built motosport complex on land opposite the former steelworks at Llanwern, near Newport, in south Wales.

RHL used the stand at the show to seeking input from the sporting public as to what they'd have on their wish-list for such a venue.
The plan is to eventually have a £9 million facility on a 140-acre site that's going to have a new GP level motocross track as its centre-piece.
Eventually, the 44-year-old Welshman, who has promoted the British MX1/ MX2 GP at Mallory for the past two years, envisages three separate motocross tracks at the new venue – the GP circuit, another designed to accommodate national standard events and a practice/ club level one. This is in addition to a trials arena, a beginners/ try-out zone, an enduro/ mountain-bike park with a course of between five to six miles, a speedway oval, a supermoto/ go-kart circuit, a watersports facility, plus infrastructure like hard-standing paddock and car-parking areas, a camping area, an exhibition centre, hotel, restaurant, offices and visitor centre.
