MXGP Qualifying Results - 2022 Matterley Basin

MXGP of Great Britain Qualifying results from Matterley Basin on February 26, 2022.
Maxime Renaux and Simon Langenfelder took the wins in the first Qualifying races for two seasons as the traditional two-day format returned to the FIM Motocross World Championship at Matterley Basin.
Team HRC's Tim Gajser set the fast lap in Time Practice to give him first gate pick for the Qualifying race, but Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP's Renaux in his rookie season in the premier class, raced a calm and assured race, holding off the four-time world champion to take the chequered flag and first gate pick for the points-paying motos on Sunday.

MX2
While Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2's Jago Geerts just squeezed a little more pace out of the Matterley Basin circuit in Time Practice, there was little in it between him, Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing's Langenfelder and Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing's Kay de Wolf.
But come the Qualifying race, Langenfelder got out front and had no issues holding off former MX2 world champion Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) in the MX2 Qualifying race. A win that will no doubt leave the German with a bag full of confidence heading into the two races on Sunday.
