Three for the two Simons!

AFTER a few months break, the Sidecars were back in action for the fifth round of the AMCA Cham-pionship at the Hungry Hill track. A thorough soaking ensured that the circuit was in pristine condition, with the club also hosting a round of the AMCA 125cc Championships in addition to the regular support races.
Twenty three outfits lined up for qualifying, withthree new entrants to the Cham-pionship series - former solo ridersMark and Melissa Griffin, and new boys Ross Bowers and Dan Phelps and Edward and Kristian Turner.
Looking to regain their lead at the top of the table, Simon Bradford and Simon Morgan were fastest in
the qualifying, posting an impressive 2:23 fastestlap, some four-seconds ahead of the Championship leaders Steven Franceand Martin Taylor.
Bradford and Morgan stormed off the start in theopening moto, followed by the outfits of Bill Bradford and Jeff Jamesand Alan Peever and Anthony Phillips.
With Bradford opening up a good lead, a trio ofcrews battled for second. France picked off Peever and the Bradfords tomove into second place at the chequered flag.
Race two got off to a great start but was redflagged after one lap when Evans/ Bishop flipped their outfit on atight corner and the race was stopped. Both riders were unhurt.
France and Taylor were on a borrowed outfitfollowing an exhaust problem. Steve France's dad let him use his outfitso that Steven didn't lose valuable Championship points.
