Wolff pack go hunting

YOU know the season must be drawing to a close when the Bill Turner and Wally Searle Trophy motocross comes around. Hosted as usual by the South Hants Club at Binstead, it was very well supported with 27 Pre-85 sidecars entered and 18 more in the Modern Sidecar class.
The Bill Turner Trophy is awarded to the top Pre- 85 sidecar with a British engine and outfits with foreign engines race for the Wally Searle. The meeting is in memory of Bill Turner and Wally Searle who were one of the first sidecar race teams in Britain.
The first race of the day was Modern sidecars and the holeshot went to Adam Field with Ross Parmenter in the chair. Close on his tail was Nick Jarvis/ Ryan Humphrey and Rob Oldfield/ Gary Kinge. Before the end of lap one Jarvis/ Humphrey had taken over the lead but it took until lap four for Oldfield/ Kinge to get past Field/ Parmenter. Behind these three was a close race between Stephen/ Brian Parr, whose engine went bang on lap two, Josh/ Dan Chamberlain, Scott Balsille/ Chris Pannell and Dave Goddard/ Scott Cooper. Trouble hit Goddard/ Cooper on lap three when they fell foul of the infamous ‘Binsted Puncture' which also befell Jarvis/ Humphrey on lap seven.
Although having lost another couple of places, Field and Parmenter were doing well but were forced to pull out on the penultimate lap when their rear wheel broke up.

Modern Sidecar: 1 Rob Oldfield/ Gary Kinge, 2 Josh/ Dan Chamberlain, 3 Scott Balsillie/ Chris Pannell, 4 Carl/ Steve Kirwin, 5 Alfie Hyde/ Craig Parmenter, 6 Jamie/ Ben Davis.
